Coach Draeger

Coach Draeger played his minor baseball in Saskatoon for the Saskatoon Rays, the Saskatoon Red Sox and the Saskatoon Giants. Winning 7 provincial titles along the way. He played college baseball at Williston State College in North Dakota, where he helped to win a confrence title in 2009. Jordan  then grauated to play NCAA D2 at Bluefield State College in West Virginia. Jordan obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, and gained accolades as an Academic All-Conference, and All American student. In his senior year, he was the recipient of the Senior Scholar-Athlete Award.

Caoch Draeger is proficient in all disciplines of coaching but specializes in catching and hitting technique. Coach Draeger is a NCCP Certified Coach and has completed the baseball specific Competition Development Course offered in Orlando, FL.

He began his coaching experience with the Saskatooon A’s Midget AA program in 2014 and has coached with the Fall Baseball Program since 2012. Draeger began coaching individuals lessons, and groups lessons and teams at Going Yard Baseball in 2014. He was also an assistant coach to Greg Brons for the Saskatchewan Baseball Academy for 2014 to 2018. In 2019 he became head coach, as the program changed names to the Going Yard Baseball Academy. Coach Draeger has placed 40+ collegiate athletes and enjoys aiding players in the process of finding post secondary opportunities. Coach Draeger also coaches his alma mata Saskatoon AAA Giants from 2015 onward. The team won a provincial title during his first year as a coach in 2015, and have been finalists x2 since.

Draeger strives to find the most interesting and innovative ways to teach new techniques in baseball by traveling North America attending coaching conferences, keeping up with collegiate coaches on their current teaching and metrics, as well as consulting the Going Yard Baseball Academy’s alumni currently playing collegiate or pro. Coach Draeger aims to utilize the Gordie Howe Sports Complex and their partnerships with Ignite Athletics, ZONE Physiotherapy, and the Driveline TRAQ program to develop a data driven academy that produces upstanding student athletes ready to take on any challenges ahead.

Coach Draeger’s passion is baseball, he believes in the life lessons that the game of baseball instills such as healthy competition, discpline, and teamwork. Coach Draeger cherishes the relationships he has had the opportunity to create in the extended baseball family and loves to talk ball with anyone! Coach Draeger plans on remaining involved in the future of baseball, and plans to give back to a sport that has given him so much.
